Provoices, the newest undertaking by allvoices.com, the leader in citizen reporting, is looking for freelance journalists around the world. Positions are available from Los Angeles to New York, Kabul to Baghdad, England to Africa, and anywhere else news is waiting to be broken or events explained.
We’re looking for working reporters who can mix multimedia savvy with old-fashioned shoe leather reporting. But our emphasis is on the journalism, and we promise to guide you through the new world that reporting has become.
The right candidates will know how to recognize a story, report a story, write it clean and get it up on our site fast. We’re looking for correspondents who can cover news, break news and explain news.
Applicants will have published clips and a professional career either as a freelancer or a former reporter or editor in any medium. In other words: professional voices, or provoices. No writers of jargon, please. Self starters wanted and admired. Clear English writing essential.
Positions are part-time contract jobs, with contributors expected to file two or three stories a month, along with photos and video in some cases. Stories can be pitched and will also be assigned. Web experience helpful but not essential.
